What is The Trinity?

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit
And God said, Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness
Genesis 1:26 (a)
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.Genesis 11:7
And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straight away out of the water: and lo,the heavens were opened unto him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.Matthew 3:16,17
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name_ of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Ghost.Matthew 28:19
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but it is the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.1 Corinthians 12:4-7
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen.2 Corinthians 13:14
For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.1 John 5:7
Each of these verses of Scripture shows a reflection of the Triune nature of God. While the actual word "trinity" is not in the Bible, there are many supporting Scripture verses to show the Trinity. Some claim that there is no attributes or partners to God- that He is One. Bible believing Christians agree there is only One God- but He is 3 persons in Himself. Is this telling us that God is confusing, therefore contradicting the Scripture verse that says, God is not the author of confusion? Not at all! God is not desiring that we be confused or afraid, but we must trust Him with what wisdom and knowledge He sees fit to give us. The idea or doctrine of the Trinity is not confusion- but a Secret Mystery! Just as we trust that the Word is true when it declares that creation brought order to chaos is a mystery to us, so is it that God is a loving Father, a sacrificial Son and comfort and wisdom of His Holy Spirit! To this I say Praise Him, for he is Awesome and too huge for my small mind to conceive!
